We got the power, the Jujubee and tired legs

We had a great day in Gang Shan today. After a late night packing and an early morning, we made our first visit to The Hsinta Power Station (pronounced shinta). We had a very informative presentation from the plant director and then a bus tour of the plant which included a 2 kilo drive out a very narrow peer. Along the drive we met a fellow on a scooter trying to get back to shore. He just slipped past without being knocked into the ocean. At the end of the peer we could see schools of small fish swimming in the deep water and some large fish trying to catch them. We also spotted a few jelly fish peacefully floatung by. I wish we could have stayed out there with a fishing pole hauling them in but we had another stop to make. A Rotarian in the area had a Jujubee farm. If you have never heard of the jujubee, it is the size of a small apple and very sweet. It doesn't taste simalar to any other fruit I have had but it is very tasty. After a delicious Lunch, we headed to a nearby lake for a scenic and HILLY bike ride. One of the real treats here was to ride with a ninety year old Rotarian named Sakana (which means fish). Sakana is in amazing shape and you would think he was seventy. He hs been a Rotarian for 48 years. That means he joined Rotary the year I was born! What an example he is of a life well lived as a Rotarian.
