After an early morning train ride we were greeted in Pingtung by three great Rotary Clubs. We loaded up on a tour bus which we have come to love and headed down the coast to a Dao Temple. The temple was huge and it happened to be the local god's birthday so the place was packed. It is a very interesting religion. It focuses on family, ancestors and prosperity.
Next to the temple was a really cool market selling many of the local foods we have come to love.
After sampling some boiled duck eggs, we headed south to Kending. We had some time on one of the beaches there at a cove where part of the movie "Life of Pi" was shot.
A final run through the town and stopped off for a quick visit to the lighthouse and the Southern most tip of Taiwan.
